Nick Trahair, CLM, CHA Founder of Cherry Capital Hospitality, LLC
Nick Trahair, CLM,CHA, a seasoned hospitality professional, brings a vast background of administrative and operational experience. He has close to 30 years of hospitality management behind him and continues to learn and also teach the next generation of hoteliers.
Mr. Trahair has served as the Regional Operations Manager for a large hospitality management company based in the Midwest and also has worked in the food and beverage management field. Throughout his career, he directly oversaw all operations and administrative tasks in his hotel portfolio, working with different ownership groups. He directly oversaw and executed the rebranding of hotels both into franchised properties and independent boutique hotels. He has also planned, managed and implemented a full remodels of hotels..
Mr. Trahair has been awarded both the Certified Lodging Manager (CLM) & Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) designation by the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Educational Institute. This designation shows he is in the top of hospitality professionals within the industry excelling in human resources and property management while showing sound judgment, and practical skills. He keeps pace with change, improves his knowledge, and shares his experience with others. He was honored to be awarded lifetime designation as a Certified Lodging Manager.
Mr. Trahair served three years as President of the Grand Traverse Area Hotel and Motel Association, and also as an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau. He also was was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Great Lakes Children's Museum and served as its president from 2013-2014.
Looking at the future, Mr. Trahair worked with the Grand Vision program initiative in the region facilitating community workshops focusing on land use and transportation issues while studying towards future growth for Northern Michigan.
Mr. Trahair has written and has had published articles on subjects such as marketing, operational controls and employee morale and training in statewide and national industry publications.
Outside of hospitality, Mr. Trahair is an athletic coach with the largest school district in Northern Michigan.
Mr. Trahair holds a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and several professional industry certifications in both hospitality and student athletic management.
In his spare time, Mr. Trahair enjoys spending time with his daughter, while traveling near and far exploring new places and enjoying the beauty of Northern Michigan and Traverse City areas. He is also very active in volunteering for different community organizations.
